More great giveaways will resume after Christmas - HO! HO! HO!
Having a birthday in December can tweak the purse strings, but to have two in the same month as Christmas is a real test when money is tight. The twins recently had their 6th Birthday and thanks to my generous parents the "big" present was sorted ! They also received several cards containing money. My first reaction is to put it into their savings accounts for "a rainy day" I certainly know all about them ! But then they saw an advert for Build a Bear ! "PLEASSSEEE MUMMY, can we spend our birthday money and buy a bear"
I must admit to never having ventured into our local store, it looks VERY expensive, the kind of luxury that we had to forego a long time ago. I popped onto twitter to ask the lovely tweeters what their view was of Build a Bear ! It was a resounding thumbs up, although like me, a few thought the costs soon mounted up with clothes, hearts, shoes etc. But as a birthday treat, it was a lovely idea. I found out they even do parties ! And for those of you into apps they have just launched their first mobile application for the ipad, iphone & iPod Touch ! http://www.buildabear.co.uk/app/ with exclusive offers for app users.
We collected the twins from school and along we went, Monday night after school, best time to go. There were only a few customers. What an experience ! I can see now why people love it in there so much.
The boys had a wonderful time with the staff, they were friendly, paitent and went out of their way to make it a great experience for the boys. Milo chose a Obi bear and Jarvis a Darth Vader, complete with Star wars sound track in their paws .
When I arrived home I was thrilled to receive a tweet from the Lovely Estelle from Build A Bear offering us a birthday trip to the local store ! As we had just arrived home ! Doh! Timing is everything ! I asked if it would be possible to have a bear to giveaway on my blog, and guess what ! She sent me one ! Whoop!
I have a gorgeous velvet puppy, complete with pretty pink pj,s and slippers.
