Books, books and more books

A few weeks ago I popped over to Rachael from Tales from the Village blog as she had tweeted that she was sick in bed and had nothing to do but lie back and read a pile of books.  Ohh! how I wish I could do that, I thought.  I left her a comment telling her how jealous I was of all that time to lie around and just read and hoped she got better soon, or words to that effect and thought no more of it.

Several days later an email pinged into my inbox from Appliances Online telling me I had been chosen from the list of people who had commented on Rachael's blog to receive chocolates and wine.  Well, not one to turn down such scrummy stuff,  I was about to accept when I noticed that the lovely appliances fairy was also offering me an alternative choice of an Amazon gift voucher.  As much as I love my wine, I do,  and chocolates (well the family do) they don't hang around for long so I went with the gift voucher option . Wasting no time I clicked over to Amazon and chose these totally gorgeous books :

The White Home (no surprises there )

Living With White (again , are you seeing the theme)

At Home with White (yes I know, I have a serious white issue)

Within days they arrived and are totally, utterly, gorgeous books.

If you would like to be in with a chance to receive a visit from the Appliances Fairy, just leave a comment below.  As they say, you gotta be in it to win it !

  4. Lucky you! I love getting new books, of course I love chocolate and wine too. I feel like I should be painting a big yellow X on my door at the moment. Unfortunately no bed and books for me either, my kids have all got chicken pox, the twins are coping fairly well but my youngest was up all last night. So I know exactly what you mean, I miss those days of being ill and actually being able to lay in bed and relax lol.

  6. My house looks like a library I have so many books. I love reading so much but then chocolate is so scrummy and it doesn't take up any space in my house (mainly because as soon as I get it I've eaten it lol.)I bought a kindle to try and cut down on books lol. Maybe they should make a chocolate book, although I would probably have eaten it before I read it.

  8. I'd have gone for the voucher too, I love books. I think the ones you chose look lovely, however, if you change the word 'white' to 'mud' you'd have a pile of books much more suitable for my house. x

  9. Hi EmVi sounds like a plan, have the chocolate and download books on kindle. I am thinking about uploading my blog to kindle, not sure it would work though at the moment with Kindle being just black and white pics ? xx

  17. Def a no brainer - books all the way.

I wonder how all White home would look with so many variations of White.

I have a laundry/shower room. Washing machine is bluey White & tumble drier is yellowy White. Being next to each other it Offends my eye every time I use the loo. sigh . . .

  28. I have started to read again having had a baby shaped gap for the last six months. I've just started to get back into reading now that I'm strapped to the sofa most days whilst Isabelle happily snoozes (unfortunately the only place apart from pram she will sleep during the day). I think my subject of reading should be self-help (joking, but probably needed). I'm a sucker for Chick-lit with a gushy ending!
